OnStage Academy Staff
Doug McDade
Doug
has been teaching acting to children and adults since 1994 and is currently
a member of the teaching staff at Chicago's The Audition Studio for the Teen
Actor in its On-camera Division for film, TV, and commercials. Doug's professional
acting career spans 28 years and nearly 60 stage credits. He is co-founder,
President and Managing Artistic Director of The Gurnee Theatre Company. Doug
is a former member of Actors Equity and an active member of American Federation
of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) and Screen Actors Guild (SAG). His
television and movie credits include
the feature film, "Things
Change", directed by David Mamet.
Doug's directing credits include stage works for Shattered Globe Theatre, Northside
Story Productions, the touring company of Koch-Cohen Productions, Kalibre Productions
and The Gurnee Theatre Company. He has also directed projects for video and
television. He tutored privately with Sir Geoffrey Connor of The National Theatre
of Great Britain and was trained at the London Shakespeare Academy. Doug currently
resides in Gurnee, IL where as a member of Joy! Lutheran Church, he serves
as the Drama Coordinator for their Worship Ministry, Joy!ful Players.
Lisabeth Rohlck
Lisabeth Rohlck is GTC's On Stage Academy Coordinator. A professional working actor, she has performed with various award-winning theatres in the Chicago area, including The Griffin, Shattered Globe, Chicago Actors Ensemble, Tin Fish and Shakti Dance. She was in the first Gurnee Theatre Company production of Light Up the Sky and was a member of GTC's Improv Troupe, Pop's Players. Lisabeth has numerous commercial and industrial on-camera credits. She was also a member of Kaleidoscope Children's Theatre Company which performed participatory theatre in schools. Lisabeth first taught creative dramatics in Michigan and has been with GTC since its inception.

Darren Callahan
Darren has written drama for the BBC, The Sci Fi Channel, and New York City’s Radio Pacifica. He is a winner of NPR's National Radio Drama Award, and his writing has appeared in a number of music and fiction magazines. His plays also include “Filmstars,” “The White Airplane,” and “Horror Academy.” Novels include “The Audrey Green Chronicles” and “Documentia.” His website, darrencallahan.com, features hundreds of articles about his endeavors. Tina P. Schwartz
Tina
lives
in Grayslake, Illinois with her husband and their three children. She enjoys
writing for children as well as meeting many, many kids while doing author
visits at schools, libraries and book signings at stores. A Columbia College
graduate, with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing Communication, Mrs. Schwartz
worked in Advertising for several years until becoming a mother. She began
writing and worked part-time as an Assistant Youth Librarian, and now writes
full-time while staying home with her children. Tina is a self-proclaimed tomboy
who enjoys playing sports, watching movies and loves dogs and children. Her
current books are: Writing & Publishing: Famous Teen Authors – How
to Add Your Name to the List (forthcoming 2007, working title, Scarecrow Press),
ORGAN TRANSPLANT: A Survival Guide for the Entire Family, Scarecrow Press,

Madelyn Sergel
After
graduating from Syracuse University with a degree in theatre, Madelyn Sergel
acted professionally for many years in theatres throughout Chicago. A member
of SAG/AFTRA, she also worked in commercials, industrials and print. Since
retiring from acting, she has written two novels, four screenplays, two stage
plays, a one act and one short subject. Currently chair of the Citadel Theatre’s
Literary Committee, she is also at work on her third novel. She is married
to David Brodsky and has two children, Lucas and Isabel.
